
Obesity and birth by c-section
Babies born by c-section are twice as likely to be obese.
A study from a Children’s Hospital in Boston shows c-section babies had a higher Body Mass Index and skinfold thickness by the time they’re three, regardless of their birthweight or their mother’s weight.
Researchers think it could be c-section babies are born with more intestinal bacteria that may increase inflammation, insulin resistance and the production of fat deposits.
