Concern over dental x-rays
Getting dental x-rays every year may increase the risk for a common type of brain cancer.
Researchers at Yale studied nearly 1,500 patients with a common type of brain tumour.
They found that those who had exams where x-ray film was held in place between the teeth at least once a year were two times more likely to have this type of tumor.
Meanwhile, other experts say to keep in mind that patients in this study were forced to remember the types of scans they had decades ago and that radiation exposure from such x-rays is much lower now.
