Ontario reports 2,632 COVID-19 cases, 46 deaths

Ontario reported 2,632 cases of COVID-19 and 46 deaths on Thursday.

Thursday’s numbers come as the province completed 70,256 tests. Health officials say the daily case count includes 102 cases from Toronto Public Health, which had been dealing with a technical issue.

As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 253,817 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

The technical issue at Toronto Public Health is now resolved, with 102 cases added to today’s total.

• 230 deaths — up three from Wednesday
• 110 in hospital

Halton

• 7,761 total cases — up 68 from Wednesday
• 7,161 resolved cases
• 452 active cases
• 148 deaths — up two from Wednesday
• 38 in hospital

Niagara

• 6,995 total cases — up 111 from Wednesday
• 5,166 resolved cases
• 1,585 active cases
• 244 deaths — up five from Wednesday
• 2,760 vaccinations administered
• 74 in hospital

Brant

• 1,280 total cases — up nine from Wednesday
• 1,203 resolved cases
• 71 active cases
• 6 deaths
• 2,552 vaccinations administered
• 6 in hospital

Six Nations

• 135 total cases — up two from Wednesday
• 124 resolved cases
• 10 active cases
• 1 death

The province says 15,899 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday. As of 8 p.m., 253,817 total doses have been administered.

Over 40,000 total vaccinations have been completed.

There are 1,533 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, including 388 in intensive care  with 293 of them on ventilators.

Another 2,990 cases of the virus have been marked as resolved.
