Norfolk County has approved additional resources for a Simcoe long-term care home currently in an outbreak.

Reports say council approved the hiring of eight full-time staff in order to increase the level of care at Norview Lodge.

Another four full-time employees will be taken on to continue screening everyone entering the facility for symptoms of COVID-19.

Ontario’s Ministry of Health and long-term care will fund the cost of the temporary new hires.

Reports also say Norfolk County will need to tap into a federal infrastructure program next year to provide upgrades to Norview’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system.
