The Ontario government is updating its COVID-19 school and child care screening guidance.

The province is now suggesting children stay home from school for 24 hours if they have either a runny nose or headache. They can then return to school if their symptoms are improving.

Those with two or more symptoms or those with a fever or cough are still being advised to stay home until a doctor is consulted or the child tests negative for COVID-19.

Abdominal pain and pink eye have also been removed from the list of symptoms.
