A mandatory mask bylaw will go into effect in Niagara Region next week.
Regional council passed the motion at its meeting on Thursday.
The bylaw will come into effect on July 31.
It will require masks be worn in indoor public spaces and on public transit in all 12 municipalities.
Exceptions to the bylaw include people with medical conditions and children under five.
This comes as Niagara moved into Stage 3 of reopening on Friday.
Meanwhile, Haldimand County council will review its own mask bylaw on Monday.
