Abortion rights advocates and Democrats score wins in U.S. elections

It was an off-year election, but the voters across the country who cast ballots yesterday, sent big messages.

Democrats marked key victories in several races and ballot measures, despite what polls about the impending 2024 presidential election show.

Voters in Ohio decisively said they wanted a constitutionally protected right to abortion with the passage of a ballot measure – only a few months after they rejected another measure that would have made it harder for them to shield abortion rights.
