Emergency crews continue to search for a man who was last seen attempting to save his dog on a raft floating away in Twelve Mile Creek in St. Catharines on Sunday.
Niagara police responded shortly before 9 p.m. following reports of a man and dog in the treacherous waterway.
Investigators say the man was getting off of a raft when it began to drift away with the dog still aboard. Police say the man then became distressed, submerged into the water and was not seen again after trying to save his dog and raft.

St. Catharines firefighters found the dog and raft. Police have not indicated the current condition of the canine.
A family friend has identified the missing man as Liam Neumann, but police have not formally released his name.
Search efforts have continued every day since the incident occurred, however, crews have faced difficulties due to bad weather.
Niagara police are asking the public to avoid the area of Twelve Mile Creek as they continue to investigate the hazardous area.
