A 19-year-old Niagara man was airlifted to a hospital in Hamilton after he fell into the Niagara Gorge.
Niagara Parks Police and the Niagara Falls Fire department were called to River Rd. between Eastwood Circle and Seneca St. around 3 a.m. yesterday morning.
Passengers involved in a single-vehicle crash told police the 19-year-old driver ran from the scene, climbed the retaining wall and fell into the gorge.
It took firefighters around two and a half hours to rescue him.
He sustained a lower body injury and was sent to hospital for treatment.
The collision remains under investigation.
