SUV collides with house in Fort Erie

Niagara police say an SUV collided with a house in Fort Erie.

On Saturday, May 21, around 12:43 a.m., emergency services responded to a report of the SUV colliding with a house in Crystal Beach.

Officers found a man who had been home at the time of the collision being treated by paramedics. Police say his injuries were believed to be minor. A woman who also had been in the home at the time was uninjured.

Police say the black 2017 GMC Yukon struck the corner of the house on Ridgeway Road between Erie Road and Graeber Avenue. It caused significant damage and the home was deemed no longer safe to live in. Damage estimated are currently unavailable.

The owner of the Yukon who happened to be on scene reported that the SUV was stolen from a bar on Erie Road where they had been. Witnesses at the collision report seeing a man run from the scene wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He has not been located.
