OPP investigate two incidents of fuel theft in Norfolk

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say it is investigating two incidents of fuel theft in Norfolk.

Police say between April 29 and May 4, and unknown number of people visited a Crescent Boulevard, Simcoe, Norfolk County address and proceeded to drill holes into a gas tank on a parked vehicle. The unknown suspect(s) then removed fuel. Damage is estimated at around $1,000.

In a separate incident, a transport truck was parked in a field at Highway 59, Langton, Norfolk County address.

When the owner arrived back at their address, police say they found a man syphoning gas from the tanks of the truck.

When the man was confronted, he fled in a pickup truck. He was last seen heading westbound on Norfolk County Road 45.

The man is described as white, 30’s, around 5’10. 175 lbs, scruffy short brown hair with a thin build and wearing a black toque with jeans and had a very pungent odour.

The pickup truck was described as an older black coloured Ford Super duty F250 or F350, four door truck. Police say there was a 25 gallon drum with an electric pump located at the rear of the truck.

OPP continue to investigate both incidents and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
