Hamilton police investigate downtown shooting

Hamilton police are investigating a shooting incident that happened downtown on Sunday.

Officers say they responded to reports of the sound of gunshots in the area of Barton Street East and East Avenue North around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, April 10.

Police say evidence on scene confirmed a shooting took place, but no victims were located.

Officers received reports that numerous vehicles were seen fleeing the area in the aftermath of the incident.

Police are asking residents in the area to review their security surveillance cameras around the time of the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police at (905)546-3818.
