Adoptable Pets: the Lincoln County Humane Society introduces Chelada

On this Adoptable Pets, Cassandra Gelzynsky from the Lincoln County Humane Society joined us with 1 1/2-year-old Chelada, who is looking for her furever home.

Chelada came all the way from a shelter in Mexico called Evolucion. She one-and-a-half-years-old and is most-likely Hound Terrier mix.

Gelzynsky says Chelada is a little bit shy and nervous because she was most-likely a stray in Mexico. She says the County Lincoln Humane Society works with Evolucion to bring some of their animals to Canada for a chance at a better life.

“It’s a really great program because they do rely solely on donations of a lot of Canadian and U.S. adopters because they aren’t as common in Mexico,” said Gelzynsky.

Chelada’s only requirement is that adopters have a fully fenced-in yard because she is a bit of a flight risk and she can only be with children over the age of 12 because sudden noise and movements may spook her.
