Hamilton police have arrested a man for possession for the purpose of trafficking during a proactive patrol.

On Sunday at around 1:30 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of 94 York Blvd. in response to several community complaints about open drug use and trespassing.

As officers approached, they witnessed a man place a drug pipe, scale and bag on a sharps container.

The man was arrested. In a search, investigators located about 28 grams of suspected fentanyl, 26 pills believed to contain fentanyl, a small quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 131 suspected Dilaudid pills, five cellphones, scales, packaging materials and cash.

Residents and businesses can report suspected drug activity online but are encouraged to call 911 for emergencies. For non-emergency situations requiring a more immediate response, it’s advised to call 905-546-4925.
