Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are advising drivers on the QEW Fort Erie bound through Grimsby to take alternate routes due to a traffic hazard.

On Thursday, OPP say a piece of construction paving equipment became disabled during paving activities on the highway after Bartlett Avenue.

The large construction equipment caused two left lanes to remain closed for an extended period of time, but one lane remains open through Grimsby.

OPP say a heavy crane is on the way to remove the equipment and traffic delays can be expected through this area for a few hours.
