This year’s Big Move Cancer Ride, hosted by the Niagara Health Foundation, raised $465,000 in support of the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
Held on Sept. 13 at White Meadows Farms, over 500 riders participated in the 75 km, 50 km, 25 km or 14 km Fun Ride through Pelham.
This year’s event marked the 18th annual Big Move Cancer Ride and the Niagara Health Foundation says momentum continues to build as the community looks ahead to the ride’s 20th anniversary ride in 2028.
The health organization says this initiative touches countless lives and the $465,000 raised is a powerful reflection of the community’s commitment to supporting local cancer care and ensuring patients and families have access to the care and up-to-date equipment they need close to home.

Last year, the Walker Family Cancer Centre provided care to over 11,000 patients.
“Moments after my arrival at the Walker Family Cancer Centre, for the first time I sensed a calm come over me. This was followed up by the clear confidence and clarity of staff in making me absolutely aware that I was and continue to be, in good hands,” said Chris Kavanagh, a patient at the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
“I grew so very thankful for the commitment to patient care with gifted people and state-of-the-art testing availability so close to home. How fortunate am I.”
Niagara’s Big Move Cancer Ride will return in September 2027 with registration opening in February.
