Hamilton church closing doors after 200 years to hold contents sale
A downtown Hamilton church is holding a public contents sale before shutting its doors after 200 years.
First-Pilgrim United Church on Main St. East will permanently close on Oct. 1.
The church will host the sale on Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Decades of accumulated items — from vintage mirrors and light fixtures to church desks, filing cabinets and unique local history pieces — will be sold to the public on a cash-only basis to ensure they find a new home in the community,” reads a statement from the church.
