Hamilton police arrest man after fight at Haven Inn left second man with stab wounds

A 35-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning after an alleged fight at the Haven Inn in Hamilton left one man with non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Officers say at around 1 a.m. they were called to the area around Main Street West and Whitney Avenue for a disturbance.

They say initial information stated that a group of people were physically fighting, and one male was bleeding.

When investigators arrived, they say they found an injured 54-year-old man from Hamilton, and transported him to hospital.

Detectives soon located a suspect at a nearby location and charged the 35-year-old Hamilton man with aggravated assault.

The Hamilton police K9 unit found the knife allegedly used in the incident nearby.
