Haldimand County residents will go to the polls to cast their votes for their next mayor and other municipal officials on Oct. 26, 2026.

More information on voting in Haldimand County and key dates can be found on their website.

Haldimand County adopted a seven-ward model in 2025. This means residents will now be voting in seven wards instead of six. More information on the new model can be found on the county’s website.

The deadline to submit or withdraw nominations was Aug. 21 at 2 p.m.

Candidates are listed alphabetically by last name alongside a brief bio. This page will be updated regularly as the race develops, and individual ward candidate lists will follow the same format.

Haldimand County’s mayoral race

Shelley Ann Bentley brings a background in nursing to her role as Haldimand County mayor, a position she has held since 2022. As she seeks re-election, Bentley remains focused on retaining local jobs, driving tourism and business, and planning for the county’s future.
Andy Griffin brings over 20 years of small business experience in construction and landscaping to the mayoral race. His platform focuses on affordability, transparent governance, and accountable leadership.
Jesse Little
Jake Vandendool brings both private sector and law enforcement experience to the mayoral race as an entrepreneur and former OPP special constable. His key priorities include public safety, financial accountability, and managed growth.
