HSR regular service begins with reductions amid part shortages

The first day of Hamilton Street Railway’s (HSR) fall weekday service is off to a rocky start. Several bus routes are going to be affected Tuesday due to a temporary parts shortage.

At least seven routes are going to see reduced service including:

• Route 2 Barton
• Route 20 A-Line Express
• Route 22 Upper Ottawa
• Route 25 Upper Wentworth
• Route 33 Sanatorium
• Route 44 Rymal
• Route 51 University

A City communication update says the HSR requires 250 buses to support weekday service during the afternoon peak period but service will be short by 25 buses.

Service disruptions are expected to decrease daily while delayed parts come in and repairs are made.

The issue is expected to be resolved next Monday.
