Police link same suspect vehicle to Welland, Port Colborne thefts

Niagara police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect vehicle connected to recent thefts in both Welland and Port Colborne.

On Aug. 11, officers were called to a report of a break-and-enter in a Welland storage unit.

Investigators have determined that the incident happened on Aug. 10 between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Detectives were able to obtain security footage of a suspect vehicle involved as well as a trailer that was stolen.

On Aug. 17, a report was made regarding a belated theft incident from a construction site in Port Colborne.

Officers learned that the theft occurred on Aug. 10 at 12:30 a.m.

Detectives investigating the Welland incident learned that the suspect vehicle involved in the Port Colborne incident was the same one as the Welland incident.
