Police are investigating after a teenage boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a Sunday night stabbing in St. Catharines.

Niagara police responded to the incident in the area of Fourth Avenue and First Street Louth around 10:10 p.m.

Investigators say the teen was involved in an altercation on Vansickle Road near McCaffery Crescent and was then transported to Fourth Avenue and First Street Louth.

Police say the 18-year-old was taken to an out-of-region hospital.

The Criminal Investigative Branch has taken over the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Niagara police at (905) 688-411, option 3, extension 1009222.
