Police share video of Niagara Falls homicide suspects wanted on Canada-wide warrants

Police have released surveillance video of two suspects wanted on Canada-wide warrants for the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man in Niagara Falls.

The video shows 23-year-old Maroof Bangi and 30-year-old Josta Grace MacNeal walking together while shopping in a clothing store. Authorities have not said where exactly the footage was recorded.

Bangi and MacNeal are wanted for the alleged second-degree murder of Mitchell Snodden, who was shot on July 16 at a home on Thorold Stone Road near Dorchester Road. He died of his injuries in hospital.

The video shows Bangi wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a cross-body bag. Police describe him as being five-foot-six tall with a skinny build and dark skin.

MacNeal is seen in the video wearing a beige dress and a black and white head covering. She is described as having dark brown hair, brown eyes and has a distinctive feather tattoo on the left side of her neck.

The pair initially fled the crime scene in a white 2022-26 Nissan Rogue SUV. Two days later, Niagara police said the Nissan Rogue was recovered and the suspects were instead driving a black 2021 Mazda CX5.

The following day, detectives said they found the Mazda CX5.

Investigators determined on July 21 that Bangi and MacNeal were driving a 2016 Toyota Camry on Highway 45 in Hastings, Ont., but that vehicle was also recovered the following day by local police in Saint Eustache, Que.

Niagara police say it is currently unknown whether the suspects are operating a new vehicle.

The pair is considered armed and dangerous as officers have not yet recovered the firearm used in this shooting.

Detectives believe Bangi and MacNeal may try to change their appearance to avoid detection, including altering facial hair, hair length or colour, makeup, and clothing style.
