Two people hospitalized after two-vehicle collision on Mud Street East: police

Hamilton police say two people have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle collision on Mud Street near Eighth Road East.

According to officers, the collision involving a transport truck and an SUV occurred around 3:30 p.m.

As a result, the two occupants of the SUV were transported to hospital with injuries. Authorities say the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Mud Street East remains closed eastbound from Seventh Road East while officers investigate and the involved vehicles are removed.

Police add that a heavy tow truck is required to clear the area.

Authorities have not yet said when they expect the road to reopen.
