Two men charged in Hamilton-Toronto youth human trafficking probe

Hamilton police have arrested and charged two men following a youth human trafficking investigation spanning Hamilton and Toronto.

Shemar Walters, 27, of Toronto is facing 10 charges including trafficking in persons under the age of 18 and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Ethan Gangasingh, 20, of Brampton is facing eight charges such as procuring for sexual services under 18 and possession of cocaine and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

Investigators allege that between March and June, Walters trafficked victims, advertised their sexual services online and collected the proceeds while Gangasingh is alleged to have assisted in procuring the victims.

Walters was held for a bail hearing and Gangasingh appeared in court on Monday and was released.

Detectives believe there may be additional survivors who have not yet come forward.
