Niagara police have arrested a 27-year-old man in Welland for assault with a weapon and flight from police.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., authorities in Niagara posted on their X account they were searching for 27-year-old Dawson Morency.

Morency was wanted for assault with a weapon, dangerous operation and flight from police.

Following a search in the Lincoln Street and Southworth Street North area, Morency was arrested.
