Seven people were arrested for public drug use on Wednesday as Niagara police conducted searches for illegal substances.
Officers arrested 45-year-old Ashley Donovan of Niagara Falls on an outstanding warrant.
Donovan is facing two charges including theft under $5,000 and the failure to comply with a probation order.
Investigators observed a drug transaction taking place and then arrested 54-year-old Charmaine Taylor of Niagara Falls.

Taylor is facing eight charges including the possession and trafficking of fentanyl, heroin and hydromorphone.
As a result of the investigation, police seized 256 hydromorphone tablets with a street value of $512, 2.9 grams of suspected fentanyl and heroin with a street value of $500 and $379 in Canadian currency.
