Police seek help identifying SUV after fatal shooting at Burlington Centre

Halton Regional Police are asking residents for help identifying a vehicle suspected to be involved with a fatal shooting at Burlington Centre earlier this week.

Officers say at around 10:10 p.m. Monday, they responded to reports of a man being shot at the parking lot of Burlington Centre mall at 777 Guelph Line.

Upon arrival, authorities found 24-year-old Omer Niaz Muhammad of Burlington suffering from gun shot wounds and transported him to hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

Investigators are looking for two suspects who fled the area in a white SUV.

Detectives released surveillance video Friday showing a dark-coloured SUV in front of the suspect vehicle — the white SUV.

Officers say following the homicide, the two suspects abandoned the white SUV, setting it on fire in Hamilton.

Police are attempting to clarify the involvement of the dark coloured SUV and are asking for residents to identify the vehicle.
