Man in custody after brandishing firearm during hit-and-run incident in Burford, Ont.

Brant County OPP have arrested a 33-year-old man following reports that a person was hit by a vehicle. A firearm was allegedly brandished during the incident.

Officers say the report came in Feb. 12, at around 3:47 a.m. The complainant reported that the driver of the vehicle brandished a firearm.

The weapon was not discharged and there were no injuries.

Authorities located the suspect around 7:30 a.m. at an address on Huron Street in Woodstock, Ont.

Woodstock police responded and took the suspect into custody.

Garrett Joseph Lahey is in custody and charged with the following:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of Weapons for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Driving While Prohibited
