PM Carney lands in Doha following ‘successful’ China trade deal

Prime Minister Mark Carney has arrived in Doha, Qatar, despite some concern that the possibility of American military action against nearby Iran could have affected the plans.

His trip makes him the first sitting Canadian prime minister to visit the Persian Gulf country.

Carney’s visit to the Middle East comes after Canada’s new trade deal with China.

Jane Boulden, a political science professor from the Royal Military College of Canada, says Carney’s trip to China was a success.
