Police seeking suspects in Hamilton Mountain armed robbery

Hamilton police say they responded to a robbery involving a weapon in the area of Upper Ottawa Street and Larch Avenue Wednesday evening.

Officers say they were called at around 7:10 p.m. to the area of Southpark Avenue and Upper Wentworth Street.

The suspects were reported to have fled the area in a vehicle, which prompted officers to conduct a search.

Police say a vehicle matching the general description was found a short time later and officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop.

The occupants were detained briefly, however, police determined they were not involved in the incident and they were released without charges.

No injuries were reported.

The victims were not harmed and no firearm was recovered.

The investigation is ongoing.
