Hamilton police arrest pair accused of trafficking $120K in stolen cellphones

Hamilton police say they have arrested two people allegedly responsible for trafficking $120,000 worth of Bell Canada cellphones.

According to authorities, the accused broke into a warehouse operated by TForce Logistics in Stoney Creek in December 2024 and January 2025 — targeting cellphones belonging to Bell Canada.

Investigators traced the stolen cellphones to the businesses Link It Up at 34 Bristol Rd., in Mississauga and Amrit Electronics in Etobicoke.

Search warrants were executed at both businesses where the following was recovered:

  • 183 stolen iPhone 16 Pro Max phones (retail value: $250,000 to $450,000)
  • $65,000 in Canadian currency and $4,000 in U.S. currency
  • 16.5 kilograms of silver bars worth $34,000
  • Stolen corporate SIM cards used to unlock hundreds of stolen phones
  • Packages in the name of Bell customers that had been defrauded of new iPhones by overseas scam call centres

As a result of the investigation, 38-year-old Navjot Singh of Oakville was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime

Also facing charges is Puneet Singh, 45, of Oakville:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime
  • Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
  • Fraud Over $5000
