Hamilton police are searching for a driver accused of fleeing the scene of a “significant” multi-vehicle crash in the city’s east end Friday afternoon.
Officers say it happened around 1:40 p.m. in the area of Kenilworth Avenue North and Roxborough Avenue.
“The cause is unknown as we’re still on scene managing the chaos of a four-vehicle fail-to-remain collision investigation,” a police spokesperson said in an email to CHCH News.
Investigators say one driver was last seen running away from the scene on Strathearne Avenue. The suspect is described as a white woman who is approximately 30 years old and has long brown hair. She was wearing a red sweater at the time of the collision.
Police say they believe the woman is injured, but did not say whether anyone else is hurt.
“Please stay out of the area as traffic will be affected,” officers wrote in a post on X.
This is a developing news story. More to come.
