Liberal party needs someone popular who can ‘take Doug Ford’ says political analyst

CHCH News anchor Matt Ingram spoke with political analyst Keith Leslie after Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie announced her resignation Sunday.
Less than two years after taking the job, Crombie said she is stepping down, after a weak show of support — just 57 per cent — in a leadership vote at the party’s annual general meeting.
That means the party will soon start looking for its third leader in six years.
Leslie said that it is difficult to understand why Crombie seemed so unpopular or how she failed to connect with members of her caucus.
He also discussed why he feels the Liberal party has had such a difficult time bouncing back since the 2018 election.
