Accused killer lived at encampment with two victims: Barrie police

Police in Barrie, Ont., say a 52-year-old man and the two men he’s accused of killing and dismembering once all lived at the same homeless encampment.

Barrie police say they believe the killings were targeted and that there are no further suspects or victims.

During a tight-lipped news conference, police would not say how the accused is alleged to have killed 45-year-old William ‘Blake’ Robinson and a 41-year-old David ‘Kyle’ Cheesequay, or what his motive may have been.

Police say the 52-year-old arrested earlier this month is facing more than 30 charges, including first- and second-degree murder, along with accusations of drug trafficking and firearm possession.

They say what started as a missing persons case has turned into one of the largest investigations in the service’s history.

Police say Robinson was last heard from in January, the same month he’s now believed to have been killed, while Cheesequay was reported missing at the end of July.
