Caledonia Minor Baseball Association launches GoFundMe after theft at Henning Park

The Caledonia Minor Baseball Association launched a GoFundMe campaign after a break in at Henning Park Wednesday night.
Marianne Sabatine, the webmaster with the association, posted on social media Wednesday that over $70,000 in equipment had been stolen from the park at 161 Greens Rd., in Caledonia.
She said some of the items taken include a tractor, a zero-turn mower, Milwaukee-brand trimmers, batteries and chargers.
Sabatine says the locks on the batting cages were cut, and the keys to other storage containers were taken.
The post reads that “Johnny” — likely referring to John Uildersma, the president of Henning Park — did not have theft insurance and that it is “simply not available for this kind of setup” stating that this is the third time the park has been hit.
“This isn’t just a break-in. This is stealing from our kids and our community,” reads the GoFundMe in part.
The status of the pitching machines at the park is currently unknown.
Sabatine started a GoFundMe aiming to raise $10,000 to help replace equipment and improve security at the park.
