Man charged with careless driving following two-vehicle crash in Caledonia

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man from Quebec after a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Haldimand County sent one person to hospital.
They say two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on the highway between Haldibrook and Unity Side roads in Caledonia, at around 4:30 a.m.
Police say one person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives have charged 28-year-old Joshua Mallais from Gatineau, Que, with careless driving.
Officers briefly closed Highway 6 in both directions between Haldibrook and Unity Side roads, but reopened the road at around 7 a.m.
They posted on X at around 5:10 a.m. reporting an unknown number of injuries at the time, and advised the public to plan alternate routes.
