Halton police have arrested a man from Mississauga Saturday after an attempted carjacking at the Toronto Premium Outlets mall in Halton Hills.

Officers say someone had returned to their vehicle on the fourth floor of the parking garage at the mall at around 5:45 p.m., when a man had attacked.

The man had allegedly opened the car door and started hitting and choking the person in the driver’s seat.

The man then tried to drag the person out of the car, but was scared off when a group of witnesses came to help the driver.

Investigators soon arrived at garage, found and arrested the man on foot nearby.

Police say the man did not use any weapons during the attack, and the victim did not suffer any serious injuries.

25-year-old Tyler Tuck from Mississauga has been charged with one count of robbery.

Tuck was held in custody pending a bail hearing in a Milton courthouse, at a date that was not disclosed by police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
