Premature infant dies following two vehicle crash in Norfolk

Ontario Provincial Police say a two vehicle crash in Norfolk Sunday night that sent six people to hospital resulted in the death of an infant.
OPP officers say a pickup truck collided with an SUV shortly after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Turkey Point Road and Norfolk County Highway 24 East.
The driver of the pickup truck and five people that were inside the SUV – including a young child – were transported to hospital after emergency crews arrived.
Officials say one woman was airlifted to a hospital in Hamilton for treatment.
Sgt. Ed Sanchuk with the Ontario Provincial Police said the six people were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
One woman was pregnant during the time of the crash, and delivered her baby early as a result of the collision.
The baby was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The intersection of Highway 24 East and Turkey Point Road was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
