Brantford police have arrested three local residents and seized over $690,000 in illicit drugs in a record-breaking bust.

The drugs included the largest amount of fentanyl the force has ever obtained as a result of a police investigation.

The inquiry dates back to September when police became aware of a suspected drug dealer trafficking fentanyl within Brantford.

On Oct. 29 two search warrants were carried out at homes on Henry and Charing Cross streets. The police K-9 unit also assisted.

Authorities found a large amount of Canadian money, drug manufacturing tools and quantities of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and hydromorphone pills.

Over 3 kilograms of fentanyl were recovered.

Two men, ages 37 and 26, and a twenty-four-year old woman were arrested. They each stand charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Anyone with information on any other drug-related activities is asked to contact the Brantford police at 519-756-0113 ext. 2286.
