Manitoba court to hear bail appeal for fashion magnate Peter Nygard

The Manitoba Court of Appeal will hear a bail appeal for jailed fashion magnate Peter Nygard in Winnipeg on Mar. 18.

The hearing comes after a Court of Queen’s Bench judge denied Nygard’s release on Feb. 5 over concerns about possible witness tampering.

The 79-year-old former executive has been in custody since mid-December, awaiting possible extradition to the U.S. on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

His lawyers are proposing to install sophisticated monitoring software on all of Nygard’s electronic devices.
