It was a day for commemoration at Six Nations Veterans Park.

Six Nations soldiers who served with Canadian and American Armed Forces from before confederation to the present day were honoured. Wreaths were laid at a cenotaph to remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice. Ohsweken Remembrance Day is celebrated on a different date than Nov. 11 to specifically highlight the contributions made by Six Nations warriors.

The National Defence says the turnout at the commemoration combined with the military presence underlines the bonds between the Canadian Armed Forces and the Indigenous people of Canada.
