Chicago White Sox, Adam LaRoche quits

 
Chicago White Sox player appears to be retiring and giving up a big payday to put his family first.

First baseman, Adam LaRoche announced plans to retire on Tuesday due to a personal issue.

It comes after the team’s President, Kenny Williams, asked that LaRoche reduce the amount of time his son spent in the clubhouse.

Last season, his 14 year old son Drake was in the clubhouse almost every day.

The team’s president is concerned that allowing kids to be at the clubhouse could become “something that can get out of hand.”

LaRoche, who’s 35, was set to make $13 million this season, but the White Sox won’t have to pay him if he steps away.

According to MLB.Com, LaRoche has filled out his retirement paperwork but the White Sox is allowing him to time to reconsider.
