The Toronto Blue Jays have restored their 1.5 game lead over the New York Yankees, bringing their bats to life in the 10th inning last night.
Troy Tulowitzki singled in the go-ahead run off Alexi Ogando to trigger a four-run inning as the American League East-leading Blue Jays beat Boston 5-1.
New York had been just half a game behind the Jays after Toronto lost the series opener on Monday, but last night it was the Yankees turn to lose, 2-1 to Baltimore.
Chris David led off the ninth inning with his major league-leading 41st home run for the win. New York wasted Masahiro Tanaka’s 10-strikeout performance and Alex Rodriguez’s 30th homer.
Meanwhile, the Jays announced Marcus Stroman will make his first start of the season this weekend when the Jays return to Yankee stadium.
