Anticipation for the royal baby builds

The clock is ticking for the much anticipated birth of the royal baby.

Saturday is the expected date, but no one really knows whether that is the official due date of the Duchess of Cambridge or when this baby will arrive. Media from around the world have gathered outside St. Mary’s hospital in London. Photographers have set up ladders hoping to get the first shot of the royal baby.

When the baby is born Prince William is expected to phone his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, his father, Prince Charles, and Kate Middleton’s parents to tell them about the birth. Then, a medical bulletin will be driven to Buckingham Palace and put on an easel on the palace gates.

Royal baby mania has taken over London. For weeks now people have been betting on the gender and name. Retailers are also gearing up with royal baby memorabilia, everything from plates and mugs to “I love uncle Harry” baby bibs to “born to rule” baby clothes.
