Ontario is reporting 1,031 new COVID-19 cases Friday and four deaths related to the virus.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 589 of the infected people are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status. She says 442 of the cases are in fully vaccinated people.
The data is based on 39,748 tests completed on the previous day.
There are 146 patients in intensive care due to COVID-related critical illness, including 92 people on ventilators. Of those in hospital, 119 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 27 are fully vaccinated.
The province says a total of more than 23.8 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
Elliott says 90 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 87.2 per cent have two doses.
At least five of the province’s 626 long-term care homes currently have a COVID-19 outbreak declared at the facility.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
