Ontario reports 158 new COVID-19 cases, 4 more deaths
Ontario is reporting 158 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and four more deaths.
The data is based on 20,500 completed tests.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 25 new cases in Toronto, 19 in York Region, 16 in Waterloo Region, and 13 in Durham Region.
There are currently 122 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness and 83 on ventilators.
The province says 94,116 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered Tuesday for a total of more than 19.2 million.
Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least five are in an outbreak including Arbour Creek Long-Term Care Centre in Hamilton, St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, Fox Ridge Care Community in Brantford, and The Village of Tansley Woods in Burlington.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
