Girl, 15, in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Ancaster

A teenage girl is in hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Ancaster Sunday night.

Police say the 15-year-old girl was riding her skateboard on Old Mohawk Rd. around 9 p.m. when she was hit by a driver in a sedan.

She was reportedly thrown about five metres.

She taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where police say she remains in critical but stable condition.

Police say the driver, a 21-year-old Hamilton man, remained at the scene.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.
