The revolution begins again with a whole new production of “Les Miserables.”

Alex Reynolds attended Wednesday night’s première in Toronto, and brings us his review.

Re-vamped from the original, this production is enhanced by video imagery and scenery adapted from early 1800s paintings by Victor Hugo, his novel being the source for the musical.  Contributing to the show’s strength is the magnificent score performed with bravado by the cast earning an ovation from the audience on their feet weeping and cheering at final curtain.

“Les Miserables” is an uplifting saga, thrilling the soul.

“Les Miserables” is playing at Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre through December.
