Truce at Burlington Airpark

Officials with the Burlington Airpark have agreed to stop an ongoing landfill operation until at least September under an interim settlement in a case pitting the city against the private airport.

The two sides are now waiting for a decision as to who has jurisdiction. While airports are federally regulated the city says the landfill could violate provincial and municipal bylaws. And residents are angry about what’s been happening on the property over the last five years.
